Food Intolerance Testing

Once you realise that you may not be tolerating certain foods, it can be hard deciding what testing to do. There are many online home test kits and food intolerance labs to choose from.

However, individual laboratories vary in their testing methodologies, and some have poor reproducibility, which means if the same test were conducted twice, different results could be found. The laboratory used by the Fountain Therapies nutritional therapy practitioner, Lila Yanez-Renshaw, tests the full spectrum of immunoglobulin (IgG) antibodies and can therefore be described as food specific. It also has  a greater than 98% reproducibility rate. This means that two separate results of the same person’s sample will correlate with each other greater than 98% of the time.

The best food intolerance tests measure your IgG antibodies against specific foods, while also considering your symptoms. Symptoms analysis is conducted by our Nutritional Therapist, Lila Yanez-Renshaw after an initial 15-minute free assessment. We find out even more about your symptoms by asking you to complete a  detailed health questionnaire which we then go on to discuss at your first appointment. Following an IgG test, clients on our food intolerance discovery programme receive an appropriate protocol, be it an elimination and /or a gut support programme, which we monitor and adjust  for maximum impact.

The laboratory that we recommend at Fountain Therapies has been in operation for 40 years measuring 200 commonly reactive foods. Your results will be displayed like a traffic-light system with problematic foods in red, borderline  in yellow or those considered safe/non-reactive in green. The test kit can be used at home, as it is a self-administered finger-prick test. The sample is then posted back to the laboratory for testing.

The cost of the intolerance test and 3 nutritional support session is £429 which includes:

  • an initial Nutritional Diagnostic session lasting one hour 15 minute to assess symptoms, set goals + use of award-winning software to assess your dietary intake.
  • 200 food-intolerance panel.
  • a second 45-minute session  to discuss the results  of the programme and set a preliminary protocol.
  • A third 45-minute session for protocol evaluation and amendments.
