Project Description

Acupuncture in Crawley, West Sussex

Acupuncture is a system of healthcare originating in China and other Far Eastern cultures, where it remains a key component in standalone healthcare worldwide, and more and more people in the UK are discovering how acupuncture can benefit them.

How does Acupuncture work?

Acupuncture works to help maintain the body’s natural balance. The insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body help regulate the flow of energy(qi). This energy can sometimes become disturbed or depleted resulting in symptoms of pain or illness.
Acupuncture aims to restore, balance and promote harmony, both physical and emotional. Treatment is aimed at addressing the cause of the condition holistically in addition to treating the symptoms. Patients may notice other complaints and problems are resolved as the treatment progresses.

What are the Benefits of Acupuncture?

A growing body of evidence-based clinical research is discovering how the body responds to acupuncture and its benefits for a wide range of common health conditions. A lot of people have acupuncture to relieve specific aches and pains, such as osteoarthritis of the knee, TMJ, headaches and low back pain, or for common health problems like an overactive bladder. Other people choose acupuncture when they can feel their bodily functions are out of balance, but they have no obvious diagnosis. And many have regular treatments because they find it so beneficial and relaxing.

Your Questions Answered

People turn to acupuncture for help with specific conditions, as well as for help maintaining general good health. Others look to acupuncture to improve their sense of well-being. Because acupuncture aims to treat the whole person rather than isolated symptoms, it can be effective for a range of conditions. Many people return to acupuncture again and again, finding it both beneficial and relaxing.

People seek treatment for conditions such as:

  • Muscular-skeletal pain
  • conditions such as back/neck/shoulder pain, Sciatica, etc.
  • migraines and headaches
  • menstrual problems
  • digestive issues, such as IBS
  • stress
  • anxiety and depression.

Acupuncture needles are so fine that most people don’t feel them being inserted. It is normal to feel a mild tingle or dull ache as the acupuncturist adjusts the needle to direct Qi. While the needles are in place most people feel deeply relaxed which can continue after they are removed.

Rejuvenating Facial Acupuncture is a potential treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. The needles are inserted at specific points to improve blood flows, to stimulate collagen production, to get rid of dead skin cells. Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation treatments are cumulative and can last up to 3 years after a course of 10 treatments with maintenance and a healthy lifestyle.

It is complete with the Gua Sha facial, which is a technique to break down tissue blockages, stagnation and release toxins, facial cupping, use to stimulate skin and muscles, by promoting blood flow, relieving muscles tension related to stress, anger, fatigue, sadness…. to promote cell repair and aids in other regeneration, then finishing with a facial massage to feel completely and holistically rejuvenated.

The beauty of facial acupuncture is the face represents a micro-system of our body, so we are also treating our internal organ.

Moxa is often used in conjunction with acupuncture to enhance the effect of the treatment. The dried herb, Moxa, is used as incense to gently and safely warm the body, relax muscles and supplement qi.

Acupuncture is now widely used and accepted all over the world. In the UK more people are finding out what acupuncture can do for them. As a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) Jenny practices Acupuncture based on principles of Chinese medicine that have been developed, researched and refined for over 2,000 years.

Jenny graduated from the International College of Oriental Medicine. Jenny became interested in Acupuncture after receiving treatment and discovering the benefits of Acupuncture first hand. This sparked her enthusiasm to learn and be able to help others to maintain good health and wellbeing.

My name is Beatrice Salice, I am a FCT with 17 years experience in various areas of Healing therapies with an expertise in the field of addiction. I am a registered and qualified practitioner with CTHA in bodywork massage including Indian Head Massage Oncology Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Body Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture, Reiki level 1, Reflexology, Western Herbal Remedies and Nutrition. I strongly believe in a Holistic approach to stimulate the client’s own strength rather than focusing on the illness in the quest for optimal health and wellness.

My belief as a practitioner in this field is that the whole person is made up of interdependent parts and if one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected. In this way, if people have imbalances (physical, emotional, or spiritual) in their lives, it can negatively affect their overall health. Combining nutritional guidance, complementary therapies, mindfulness are the natural keys to reach the optimum of well being, which have been proven very beneficial during my years of practice in various treatment centres, along with a change of lifestyle.

I am passionate in promoting the importance of well being and reconnected the individual with him/herself. We are living in an era of stress, toxins, fast food, technology, we are  forgetting how to nurture our self as a whole. I am approachable, friendly, professional with a lot of empathy.
